Easier-still carrots au gratin
After steaming the sliced carrots for 6 minutes, layer a casserole with half the carrots, cover with several slices of Gruyere cheese, layer the rest of the carrots and more cheese, then a thin layer of bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min. until the top cheese and bread crumbs are browned.
Gruyere is a great melting cheese and very flavorful, so you don’t have to add anything to the carrots. They go great together.
