2-1/4 c Flour; sifted
1-1/2 c Sugar
2-1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1 Stick butter
1 c Milk; less 2 tbsp
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla extract

Sift together all dry ingredients. Add butter and 2/3 of milk; beat 2 minutes at high speed. Add eggs & balance of milk; beat 2 more minutes. Add vanilla.
