Ingredients for Far East Fried Rice Recipe
8 oz Tofu or tempeh; steamed for
-10 minutes and cooled
1 tb Oil
1/2 c Brown rice
1-1/2 c Water
2 tb Sesame seeds
1/4 c Onions; sliced
1/2 c Celery; sliced
4 Spinach leaves; shredded
1 Egg
4 ts Tamari
1/4 c Green onions; chopped

Date: 27 Apr 96 22:27:51 EDT From: Lisabeth Crawford (Pooh) <104105.1416@CompuServe.COM> Cut tofu into julienned strips. Simmer for 45 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Heat oil in wok or skillet. Add rice and water. Simmer for 45 minutes until: liquid is absorbed. Add sesame seeds & brown lightly. Add & brown the tofu/tempeh. Stir in onions, celery and spinach. Saute a few minutes, add the cooked rice. For extra protein you can make well in center of pan and drop in egg. Cook a little, then mix egg with rice and vegetables. Mix all ingredients together. Add tamari. Sprinkle green onions on top to serve.
