Ingredients for Empanadas #1 Recipe

3 Pie crust sticks (comes 2
-to a box) or favorite pie
-crust recipe
1 lb Ground beef
1 tb Oil
1 md Onion; finely chopped
1 Green pepper; finely chopped
1 ts Capers
10 Stuffed green olives;
-chopped
1 lg Ripe tomato; finely
-chopped
1 pn Oregano
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Hot sauce #3 (see recipe)

Empanadas #1 Preparation

Make pie crust dough according to directions on package and chill while preparing meat mixture. Brown meat in oil. Add the other ingredients (except hot sauce) and simmer for 1/2 hour. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick on a slightly floured board and cut with round cookie cutter. On each round of dough, put 1/2 teaspoon of filling. Fold over and flute edges with a damp fork. Fry in hot grease until golden brown. Drain and serve hot with Hot Sauce. Well worth the effort! May be made and then frozen.
