Ingredients for Elephant Ears 2 Recipe

1 pk Active dry yeast
1 c Warm milk 110-115 F
1 c Warm water 110-115 F
3 tb Sugar
1 tb Salt
3 tb Shortening
4 c All purpose flour (up to
-4-1/2)
Oil
Sugar & cinnamonmon; for
-topping

Elephant Ears 2 Preparation

Suspend the yeast in water. Add milk, sugar, salt, shortening and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. On a floured board, knead until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about an hour. Punch down and shape into 15 ovals, 4-1/2 in oval by 1/8 in thick. Heat 3-4 in oil in deep fryer. Fry ovals, one at a time, 3 min per side, until golden brown. Drain.
