The ingredients are probably found in most homes, and the delicious flavor of this cookie makes it great for any celebration, especially birthdays. When I read about the contest, I thought of this cookie immediately. A friend that I met in Newport News gave me this recipe. She is a dear, warm person who you feel comfortable with the first time you meet her. Newport News is known for its hospitality and warmth to people who visit here. My husband and I moved here almost 26 years ago, and we loved it here. When we talk about home we mean Newport News, not where we were born and raised.
