Ingredients for Coconut Belles Recipe

1/2 c Shortening (part butter)
1 c Brown sugar
1 Egg
1/2 ts Vanilla
1/4 ts Lemon extract
2 tb Milk
1 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
2 ts Baking powder
1/3 c Shredded coconut
2 tb Finely chopped candied
Orange peel

Coconut Belles Preparation

Heat oven to 325. Mix shortening, sugar, egg, vanilla, extract & milk. Mix flour, salt & powder; stir in. Blend in coconut & peel. Spread in lightly greased square pan, 9*9*1 3/4 .
