Ingredients for Christmas Cookie Recipe
1 c Shortening
1 c White sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar
1 Egg; beaten
1 ts Vanilla
2-1/2 c Sifted flour
1-1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
3 tb Milk
1/2 c Chopped walnuts
1/2 c Chopped and drained
-maraschino cherries
1/2 c Coconut
1 pk (6 oz) chocolate chips
Christmas Cookie Preparation
Cream shortening and add sugars. Gradually add egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the shortening mixture. Mix well. Add 3 tablespoons milk, alternating with dry ingredients. Add balance of ingredients. Spread into 9×13 greased pan and bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Cut into bars while still warm. May be topped with whipped cream for those who want to indulge.
