Ingredients for Chocolate Slices (Refrigerator Cookie) Recipe
1 c Shortening
2 Squares unsweetened
-chocolate; (2 oz) melted
1/2 c White sugar
1/2 c Brown sugar; packed
2 Eggs
1-1/2 ts Vanilla
2-3/4 c Flour
1/2 ts Soda
1 ts Salt
Chocolate Slices (Refrigerator Cookie) Preparation
mix shortening, melted chocolate and sugars, add eggs, vanilla and thourally mix. measure flour by dipping method. Blend dry ingredients together and mix into shortening mixture. Press and mold into a long smooth roll about 2 1/2 in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill several hours or overnight. Cut into thin slices and place slightly apart on ungreased baking sheet. Makes about 6 doz. Bake at 400 degrees 6 to 8 min. or until lightly browned.
