Ingredients for Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes Recipe
2 tb Butter or margarine
2 tb All-purpose flour
Salt & pepper; to taste
1-1/4 c Milk
3/4 c Velveeta cheese; shredded or
-diced
3 md Potatoes; peeled and sliced
1/2 c Cheddar cheese; shredded
Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes Preparation
For sauce, melt butter, stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Stir in Velveeta cheese until melted. Remove from heat. Place half the sliced potatoes in a greased 1 quart casserole. Cover with half the sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Bake, covered, in a 350F degree oven for 35 minutes. I parboil potatoes for a couple of minutes first. Fry chopped up bacon until crispy, then add onions. Instead of the white sauce add creme fraiche. Put bacon and and onions in dish. Put layer of potatoes, then some creme fraiche, then some cheddar cheese. Repeat this then cover with grated “Four Cheeses”. I buy this ready grated.Cook at 180 degrees for 45 to 50mins.
