Apple Cider Sauce for Ham Preparation

In a 4 quart saucepan bring cider to boiling. Boil gently over medium heat about 20 minutes or until cider is reduced to specified amount in recipe. Add quartered apples and sugar; toss gently to combine. Gently simmer apples covered until apples are soft– about 20 minutes. Stir once. Serve warm with ham. See recipe for Ham baked in apple cider. Note the reduced cider is entered so that when the number of servings is changed the reduced amount will be accurate. Recipe by: The New McCalls Cookbook Posted to MC-Recipe Digest V1 #871 by Max H.
