1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Cloves
1 ts Nutmeg
2 tb Shortening
1 lb Seeded raisins
2 c Cold water
3 c Flour
1 ts Soda
Pinch salt
1 ts Vanilla
Cherries and nuts
Mixed dried peel (optional)

Cold Water Xmas Cake Preparation

Boil and stir for 5 minutes the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, shortening, raisins and water. Let cool and then add the remaining ingredients.
